I love polish weddings. Being polish myself i have been to quite a few since i was little and i also have been to english weddings so i have some comparison.
Polish weddings are fantastic, mainly for those who are invited this is because when you are a guest you can eat and drink all as much as you want for free. Weddings usually start on saturday afternoon, after the church ceremony, and last to early hours. Then around 4 in the morning people go home to rest, have some sleep, have a shower change their clothes and to be back for second day reception thing, that last usually shorter than first day but it is up to you what time you leave.
Food is served all night through, people do not stop dancing, and mostly important you can take kids with you, they have seperate tables and usually a sleeping room nearby where you can check on them . I used to love those weddings when i was 5 and 6 and i was allowed to participate and enjoy myself with grown ups.
Apart from that its the usually stuff, vodka drinking, toast every 5 mins, silly games for bride and groom etc
Seriously it is amazing expierience , especially compared to english weddings where you get a glass of champagne and dinner , and after that it's how much you can afford |

Hi - I am English and I have only just joined this Forum as an interested observer of Polish culture and of the Polish people, now that so many have been welcomed into my country.
On TV last evening (28 October) I saw Michael Palin's program about his travels across Continental Europe, and he happened to be in Poland, and it featured an actual Polish wedding. It really was fantastic - so colourful and joyous and everybody seemed to be so happy. The couple themselves were so good looking, as so many Polish people appear to be - Poles a very good looking race of people. The wedding took place in a little village with the most beautiful countryside all around, as it was in Southern Poland, close to the mountains. I really enjoyed watching it. _________________ Westmercian |

I think that it is important to distinguish between the reality of life in Poland and the sophistry and demagoguery of a President who represents the political and numerical minority in Poland. _________________ Los Angeles private equity |
